The Istrian white truffle (Tuber magnatum Picco), is the most sough-after underground mushroom species, with market prices reaching as high as 7,000 euros per kilogram. Its natural habitat is confined to river meanders and floodplains. The harvesting season extends from September 1st to December 31st. Price available upon request.
